Today was a rather low key day - sorta. We packed our luggage, ate breakfast and headed for the airport. We had a 9:30 flight to Cairns. However, the flight left late. We were treated to another rainbow as we flew out of Sydney. Since we were so high in the air, we could see a full circle rainbow!! Amazing!! The flight was uneventful except for a bit of turbulence just before desending into Cairns. When we landed it was noticably warmer but still cloudy! I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see much of the sun. Sean gave us a tour of downtown Cairns. It is a much slower and smaller city. The most amazing thing is the bats that hang from the trees. Australia does not have rabies, forso we were just amazed at the racket they make. The bats are huge - just like the ones in "Crocodile Dundee". The kids had free time for the rest of the day. They occupied themselves with swimming - either in the hotel pools or in the town beach/pool, shopping, playing tennis, hot tubbing or just relaxing. Tomorrow we head off to the Barrier Reef.
